Having trouble with a slightly old comp...

Hi, I've just recently received a computer from my cousin.  He bought it 4 or so years ago off of the internet, and he didn't need it anymore, so he gave it to me.  Anyway, to the point.

It has something wrong with it, that I'd like for someone to diagnose for me.  I was recently ripping my music from a CD, and the computer restarted.  Thinking nothing of it, I allowed it to reboot and run XP again.  So, I tried to rip the CD once again, only to have the computer yield the same results.  It quickly shut down, only to restart it self again.  I gave up the idea of ripping the CD, and instead, turned to something else.  I was creating a folder to put my other music (already on the computer) inside.  I created the new folder, and named it.  Upon pressing the Enter key, the computer restarted.  I'm disoriented....

My cousin told me that this problem might be due to an insuffiecient power supply, which I could easily replace at the local geek stores.  He also said that the problem could be due to a harddrive issue.  If anybody could possibly help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

                                                                                                  Thanks,

                                                                                                    A guy
